The HSX moved down while the HNX went up.

The VN-Index ended on August 7 with the HSX at 956.79 points, down 3.44 points (0.36 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 943.49 points, down 0.89 points (0.09 per cent).
On the HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 105.71 points, up 0.12 points (0.11 per cent), the HNX30-Index closed at 189.27 points, down 0.59 points (0.31 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index closed at 50.78 points, up 0.05 points (0.10 per cent).
Liquidity on the HSX was VND3.3 trillion ($141.7 million) and the HNX was VND482.8 billion ($20.7 million).
The food and beverage stock that gained ground was BHN with 2.5 per cent. TAC lost 5.3 per cent, VNM lost 4.3 per cent and KDC lost 0.7 per cent.
Gainers in banking included VCB, MSN, BID, BVH, SSI, CTG, and TPB, which increased by 4.2, 3, 2.2, 1.4, 1.2, 0.9, and 0.6 per cent, respectively. NT2 and GAS lost 2.2 per cent, PLX 2 went down by per cent, PVD lost 1.7 per cent, and PPC lost 1.1 per cent. PVT closed as its opening price.
In energy, PGD gained 0.3 per cent, as PVT lost 1.5 per cent. Other losers were PPC with 0.5 per cent, PGD with 0.3 per cent and NT2 with 0.2 per cent.
The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were MSN, VCB, GAS, SSI, and VJC.
VNM was the largest net sold share on HSX, followed by VIC, HPG, DHG, and PVD.
VGC was the largest net sold share on HNX, followed by DGC, DGL, MAS, and NDN.
On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 1,167,933 shares worth VND22.34 billion ($959,550).
They net sold on the HSX by VND91.33 billion ($3.9 million) and on the HNX by VND1.59 billion ($68,293).
