The morning session was rather gloomy. However, in the last 20 minutes of the morning session, cash flow into the market helped the index increase.
During the morning session, the VN-Index increased by 2.15 points (0.22 per cent) to 961.75 points; the HNX-Index increased by 0.13 points (0.12 per cent) to 106.38 points, and the UPCoM-Index increased by 0.19 points (0.37 per cent) to 50.82 points. Market liquidity slightly decreased compared to the previous session with the matching order value on the three stock exchanges reaching only VND2 trillion ($85.7 million).
Foreign investors saw a net selling of over VND35 billion ($1.5 million) on the whole market, focusing on VNM (VND52 billion ($2.2 million)) and VIC (VND40 billion ($1.7 million)). They were buyers of GAS, SSI, MSN, and HDB.
Oil and gas continued to be the main attraction for cash flow with many gainers such as GAS, PVD, PVS, PVC, PXS, PVT, BSR, and PLX.
Blue-chips such as VRE and MSN, as well as ACB, BID, CTG, and VCB also gained points.
HAG and HNG gradually profited and traded in the opposite direction. The stocks that attracted good cash flow we're GEX, GIL, FMC, and DXG.
The pressure of selling in the last trading session last week and recent foreign net sales have made the first week quite cautious in its opening minutes.
Nevertheless, the positive signs of the regional market have made the trade fairly balanced and the decline isn't too large. Oil and gas continued to attract cash flow with a series of upside codes such as GAS, PVD, PVS, PVB, PVC, and PXS.
GTN today continues to break through strongly with its new price of VND11,000 ($0.47). The company also announced its second quarter results of strong growth thanks to its focus on its core business of milk, tea, and wine.
Meanwhile, most stocks with high market value such as stocks, real estate, construction, and banks struggled around the reference or slightly decreased.
In the blue-chip group, VIC gained VND500 ($0.02) at the beginning of the trading session. In contrast, VRE broke through over VND1,000 ($0.04) and was the most active stock in the market at this time.
