Cartoonists, regardless of nationality, are encouraged to submit their works to the 2018 Vietnam Press Caricature Contest to win its top prize, the Rong Tre (Bamboo Dragon) Cup.
The contest, held by The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) newspaper, is open for submission from April 3 to December 1.
Each contestant, not necessarily Vietnamese nationals, can submit ten caricatures at most.
The winners will be named by the end of this year.
The contest, now in its fifth edition, is themed “Cultural behaviors, civilized society.”

The caricature voted the most by general public will be given a prize of VND3 million ($130).
Besides the contest, a special exhibition to mark the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Press Caricature is being held by the same organizer at the National Press Center in Hanoi from April 3 to 10.
The exhibition features various prominent caricature works from 1922, the year when late President Ho Chi Minh published his first caricature work on the French newspaper Le Paria.
Below are some of the winning caricatures over the last four contests.
